Konnowac Vineyard

"Washington state is a young wine growing region but it already boasts some older forgotten vineyards that have outstanding quality potential.  Konnowac Vineyard is one of those vineyards.  It was originally planted in 1987 by Charles Fiola and is now being rediscovered by it's current owner Javier Alfonso of Pomum Cellars. The site boasts stunning old vine Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. These last two varieties may be some of the oldest examples in Washington State. The vineyard Is located at more than 1100 ft elevation in the northwest corner of the Rattlesnake Hills AVA within the larger Yakima Valley AVA. Wines made from Konnowac fruit show unique personality yet maintain focused varietal purity."
