Our Team

Our dedicated staff has the knowledge and passion to lead you through an amazing experience with us! Husband and Wife duo David & Cindy Lawson started Covington Cellars in 2002 with the love of food and wine, and wanting to share that with others. Our winemaker Morgan started with us in 2006 as David's assistant winemaker. Quickly making his way to head winemaker, Morgan has been with us for 14 years, creating amazing wines that express single vineyards and varietals. Kerri is our Director of Hospitality has been with us for 5 years. She has a degree in Wine Business Management from Washington State University, and has created a streamlined experience for each of our guests when visiting our tasting rooms. 

David & Cindy Lawson Proprietors 

David and Cindy founded Covington Cellars in their garage in Covington WA in 2002.  Cindy is from Texas and David was born and raised in Edmonds WA.  After Cindy infected David with the wine bug, the couple studied Enology at UC Davis and immediately started making hobby wine in their garage.   Today, David and Cindy split their time between their homes in Bothell, WA and in the Texas Hill Country, where they also have a vineyard and tasting room.   

Morgan Lee

Morgan is an Indiana native and was our very first hire back in 2007!   Since then, he’s made quite the name for himself producing highly acclaimed wines that we are proud to share with you.  Morgan lives in Kirkland Washington with his wife Sally, children Oliver and Claire, and his black lab named Alice.   

Kerri Sauve
Director of Hospitality

Kerri has a hospitality degree in Wine Business from Washington State University. She has worked in wine in WA state for 8 years, and has been with Covington Cellars for 5 years.  Kerri is married to her husband Zak and shares with him two fur babies, Blaze and Cash.  Kerri and Zak are currently relocating to Texas to manage our Texas wine venture. 

Sabrina Laws
Hospitality Manager/Production Assistant

Sabrina began her career in wine, right here in our cellar! She was our harvest intern in 2018 and has worked in the tasting room ever since. After 3 years of working in various facets of the Washington Wine industry, Sabrina is now taking on a bigger role here at Covington. She is a graduate of the University of Washington.
